The beer festival at Lowry Park Zoo (1101 W Sligh Ave.). It goes from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $70 by phone until 5 p.m., (813) 935-8552, ext. 276. Tickets on Saturday are $75 at the zoo’s main gate. Tickets for designated drivers are $20 in advance or at the gate. WaZoo will feature 220 beers this year. Planners expect 4,000 people.

The game Saturday against the Tigers is sold out but you may be able to find tickets outside. There were some on craigslist.org also. There will be a concert afterwards by LL Cool J. 13th Annual All About Kids Back to School Bash

Two day event for parents and kids at the Tampa Convention Center. There will be give-away and door prizes. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $ for kids 12 and under. Coupons for a free child’s ticket can be found at Publix. The event will have information about nutrition, exercising, tutoring, planning for college and drug abuse. The times are Saturday, August 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, August 5: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Shana Banana will also perform.
