Condo Tower on DeSoto Wins Appeal

The developer who plans to build a 346-foot condo tower on DeSoto and Bayshore Blvd. has won an appeal and it seems unlikely that the city can stop them, unless they try to take it to the Florida Supreme Court. What is even more amazing is that the developer, Citivest, wants the city to pay them over $1 million in legal fees. TBO.com has the story here.

This sets a bad precedent for the Hyde Park Historic District. If you don’t like the rules and you have enough money, you can just change them.
