Cafe Con Trey Closes
Cafe Con Trey, located at 2702 W. Kennedy is closing. Their building has sold and the new owners have doubled the rent. They also said, in an article in the St. Pete Times, that business has been down over the past year.
I haven’t been there in a while but I used to stop by in the morning for cafe con leche and cuban toast. They don’t plan on moving to another location. That’s the second coffee shop that has closed in South Tampa this month. The other is La Casa Dolce. I sometimes pick up a coffee at Nola Cafe on my way to work, but I usually make my own.
Good coffee used to be a standard in the area, but It’s getting harder to find decent choices. Panera makes milk drinks and Starbuck’s taste like mud.
