Pack Of Monkeys On The Loose
OK. I know this doesn’t have anything to do with South Tampa, but it’s funny. Well, maybe not for the monkeys. But still, it’s funny. Lex Salisbury, the CEO of Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, has a wildlife facility near Lakeland where he keeps some pet monkeys and 15 have escaped and are out and about.
They are kept on an island in a pond and are not supposed to be able to swim across the water. I guess they learned a new trick. An official from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said that the Patas monkeys are not a threat to people.
