Hyde Park Nightlife.

I have been living in Hyde Park for about 4 months now and I love to go out and have a good time. I also enjoy not spending my entire paycheck on a night out. So I thought I would share some of the better deals that I have come across in the area. Fortunate for me, I work the weekends and I am usually out drinking on the weekdays. I know some of these deals are pretty well-known, but bare with me, I am new to the area.

Wednesday night is actually one of my favorite nights to head out. The Dubliner (http://www.thedublineririshpub.com) on Azeele has one of the best deals around…$5.50 liter drafts on just about every beer they have. Of course, they don’t have liquor, so don’t go there if you can’t go the whole night without pounding a jagerbomb. They also have a two-man band playing some great covers every wednesday from 9pm on. Some of my friends and I have decided they are too good to be playing where they are. Oh well, hopefully they don’t realize it. MacDintons also has a $1 Coors Light special all night as well…but it isn’t nearly as popular as the $1 Miller Lites on Thursday.

Thursday is always a great night to head out. I usually head out to The Rack (http://www.hittherack.com) for a few drinks and a little sushi before I get serious for the night. I love the atmosphere at The Rack and the sushi is outstanding, but the specials usually involve liquor…not my thing. Oh yeah, they get some gorgeous women in there too, but hell, who doesn’t in Hyde Park. Then it is always off to the best Thursday night in Tampa in my opinion. MacDintons (http://www.macdintons.com) has $1 Miller Lites all night long and karaoke from 9pm on. Luckily there is plenty of room on the patio, so if karaoke pisses you off more than it entertains you, you can always escape. Again, the women are unbelievable and my girl friends tell me the guys aren’t bad either. The only thing that bothers me is the karaoke DJ that seems to prefer listening to himself sing more than his customers.

Sometimes I like to head out on Friday for Happy Hour and MacDintons seems to have the best one of those around too. From 6-8pm, it is $10 all you can drink. I don’t know about you but I can drink a decent amount of booze in two hours, definitely more than $10 worth. After that…the weekend can go anywhere I guess, but good luck trying to find any specials.

One last thing…I have to mention my favorite food special. Monday nights at The Rack they have $20 all you can eat crab legs…and they are good. I hear about a lot of people that go to the same special on the same night at Miguels on Kennedy. I’ve been to both and the crab is much better at The Rack and the servers are much cuter. Just a suggestion.

So write back and let me know what else is out there. I know it seems that I pretty much keep to 3 or 4 bars, but they are all really close to my place.

Great talk…see you out there.
